Secret of Mansion Plantation
I wrote this book many years ago and distributed it to my family and
friends. As I sat down to write, I did not want the bad language and
extreme violence that is seen on television today. So, there is no bad
language of any kind and the small amount of violence there is could
be compared to a Walt Disney story.
The story starts out on a family outing in a quiet seafront city of
Savannah, Georgia. As they drive along the main character becomes
drawn to this old, abandoned mansion, out in the country. He drives in
and is told to take the house as long as he fixes it up. As he works,
more and more happenings occur for no explainable reason.
The mansion has a wonderful lady spirit. She wants to communicate a
message to him but is unable to. What she wants our main character
to learn, and to make known to others is that, she, and other women
like her, were not given the recognition like her civil war hero husband
was. And even though he was written in history books as a terrific
hero, that he was not that much of a terrific person. The spirit of her
hero husband even tries to stop her at one point.
As the story develops, our main hero becomes more and more of a
spirit guided detective. He finds himself talking to people that seem to
disappear after speaking with them and he turns away. At times, he
finds himself both in the present and the past.
At the end, our spirited lady gives a gift of love, warmth and
compassion.
I aimed it at early to mid teens, but believe anyone will enjoy it.
The book is paperback and has 149 pages.
I publish the book myself on a per order basis.
