| I have developed a two DVD set that will hopefully help the ultimate beginner to build their very own model aircraft, whether for display or to fly by remote control. This DVD set is entitled: "The Hobby of Building Model Aircraft" Building your own model aircraft, whether for display or flying it by remote control, is fun, exciting, and gives you a great sense of pride once you have completed your model. There are all types of build up models for display and remote control. Other than park fliers, your first flying model should be of the trainer type. The trainer should have a high wing, flat bottom wing, tricycle landing gear and at least a 48" wing span. As a general rule, the wider the wing span, the easier to learn to control; the shorter the wing span, the harder it is to learn to control. For display, any type of model that you are interested in will do fine. I have attempted to put together step by step procedures on a two DVD package to help the absolute beginner learn, not only how to build, but to understand what they are building. I have tried to explain what the different parts are, why they are important and how they relate to each other. Though only one kit is shown being constructed, almost all of the steps shown will work on any kit. This DVD series is intended for the ultimate beginner. As you view this, keep in mind that there are as many different ways to build a kit and as many different techniques as there are hobbyists that have that love to build them. I have been building and flying remote control aircraft for forty years. I attended flight school and have a pilot's license as well. Feel free to email me at the email addresses below with any questions you may have. I will be more than happy to try to answer them. Happy building and happy flying.
